New managers of the Ancient Mariner, Ian & Debs Elliott have been in the trade for some time. Ian has been a publican running hotels and bars for 20 years, Deb previously has been in corporate entertainment and restaurants and pubs for 15 years. Deb is the chef and Ian front of house. The Ancient Mariner has been going through refurbishment and a new 40 seat restaurant is now open. There is pool and darts and full sky sports, showing all major sporting events. There is a lovely beer garden and outside eating area and they are in the process of re-doing the garden area to complete the whole look.
